Green Pathway Building A Deep Insight Into NGHM Projects |
Posted: January 30, 2017 |
The National Green Highway Mission is working continuously to create Green Pathways on both side of the highway. The Number of such projects are designed to maintain the greenery. As it is the best possible solution to deal with the growing level of pollution.Today, the world is suffering from global warming and the matter needs effective solution. The growing pressure of vehicles on the road contributes immensely to the carbon emission.Plant more trees to counter the greenhouse gases and make this world a better place. Highway construction is important for developing and maintaining our road system but, it is also a very dangerous circumstances for motorists and for employers working there. Hence, NGHM (National Green Highways Mission) under NHAI has been ensured with the planning task, executing and monitoring roadside plantations along 1 lakh kilometer network of national highway projects which would in turn to make 1 lakh direct job offers in plantations phase in next 10 years. The vision is to promote eco friendly national highways with the involvement of the farmers, community, NGOs, and government consultants and the forest sector for economic development and growth in a reputable manner. Major missions of NGHM: The policy plan promotions of eco friendly national highways with the involvement of several agencies are executed in a sustainable way. Based on this policy, the growth of corridors is beaded along developed and future national roadways are the wide area available in current ROW in the bases of avenue and median plantations. Based on this, NGHM concerns several missions that are very essential for us. Take up Integrated Green Corridor Development and Management for upcoming highways projects. Transplantation, landscaping, plantation, beautification and maintenance activities will be an integrated substance for all new projects. Provender of funding for implementation, planning and screening for such corridor management and development shall be done from one percent of TPC of all new national highways projects. Develop Green Corridor along developed National Highways network In some situations, though the plantation survival quality and rate are good but the aim shall be to promote robust free corridor for making sure optimum GHC sequestration and increasing the aesthetics. Create NGHM self-sustained in next 10 years. It intends to promote reputable model for green corridor development with national pathways. Efforts would be made for generating forward and backward linkages for the projects. Green Highways for Reinforcing India’s CoP 21 Commitment Various surfing, pilot projects and case studies organized across the world have granted such corridors are the successive means of pollution resistant. It works a vegetation, stream over the pollution source and aid in absorption of GHG gases and fleets of dust particles. Create Sustained Employment for 1 lakh people Allied and plantation activities need large manual workforce, creating livelihoods chances for unskilled workers. It is required to deliver 4000 mad days of employment per kilometer in management and plantation activities. Create Platform for Research and Innovation in Green Pathways Sector including Roads, Waterways and Railways Transportation section emits fourteen percent of universal GHG emissions, which is only 2nd to strengthen sector. Almost nine percent of these emissions are from surface transportation objects comprising waterways, roads and rails. In that case, road transportation system is essential to reach its saturation level. Despite, the focus will shift on harnessing importance of other expensive transportation medium. Likewise, benefit of water transportation system for cargo movement and tourism will execute in release of high volume of effluents in water bodies. It is essential to assess the environmental aspects of strategies and developments for pollution containment shall also be developed for combating upcoming climatic effects.
