What constitutes a Gift Deed? When any movable or immovable property is transferred by one party to another without payment of any kind of consideration either cash or otherwise and a deed is executed to effect the same is known as Gift Deed. In order to make sure that a Gift Deed is acceptable under the eyes of law, registration of every gift deed is required. As per the provisions of Transfer of Property Act 1882 and Registration Act, 1908 just simple signing and delivering the deed shall not constitute a valid deed. It must be accepted by the receiver, signed by both the parties and registered as per the relevant Acts. Contents of Gift Deed Any valid gift deed must have all the relevant attributes.
