Haldiram, a food chain that needs no introduction, it is loved by all and consumed by the whole nation. They always had the aim of putting Indian authentic food on the map, and successfully accomplished the same. This massive food chain was founded in 1937 by Shri Ganga Bhishen Agarwal, started as retail sweets and namkeen shop in Bikaner, Rajasthan. The next step for the company was to expand, so there first manufacturing plant was established in Calcutta. Then in the year 1970, a larger manufacturing was set up in Jaipur. With years passing by, another manufacturing plant was established in New Delhi in the early 1990s. Then came the year 2003, where Haldirams began the process of developing convenience foods which were aimed to be marketed to the consumers. The company is growing at a rapid pace over the years, and back in 2017, it was titled as country’s largest snack company and surpassed the various domestic and even international competitors. Another feather in the cap for the company when their products found global success with its products being available in more than 80 countries! Some of the countries where Haldiram products is present are Germany, United States, Sri Lanka, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Japan, New Zealand and the United Arab Emirates. Their primary motive of the company was not only to introduce new cuisines but to streamline systems, standards and procedures that helped Haldirams keep the customers satisfied. Its initiatives like these that helped the company grow and diversify both in India and internationally. The range of products that Haldiram provides are - haldiram thandai, namkeen and saviours, chips, frozen foodand sweets! The company has over 400 products. To make more potato-based food, machinery was imported from the United States . Not only that, Haldiram’s products are marketed at various retail locations like bakeries and confectionery stores, and you can find the same on commercial websites as well. Up till 2003, Haldirams products in the US market were limited only to potato chips. Haldiram’s products are carried by some Indian supermarkets. In U.S., Haldiram's products are popular with the Indian diaspora.
